Shota (surname unknown)

Engineer at Next

October 24, 2026

Shota is the engineer Next assigned to my renovation. I have only his first name, from Lola Samnidze, who gave my wife his number on February 21, 2025, with the note that he speaks only Georgian. He is the one member of Next's staff whose conduct cost us part of our home.

The corridor. We bought two adjoining apartments to join them into one, closing off the dead end of the corridor between them, as a neighbor on the same floor had done. Next's sales staff said it was possible; Lola confirmed it on February 10, 2025, after speaking "with the engineer". Eleven days later, with our renovation crew on site, Shota ruled otherwise: "You are not allowed to go out into the corridor." Shown the neighbor's plan, he answered, "Come and show me this fact, and I will personally make you do the same", and, of the promise made at the sale, "I don't know what they promised you when you bought it. I don't work in sales" (message). Lola, consulted in parallel, wrote that "in the Next project nobody has ever done that". My wife sent him the contacts of the three people who had said it was possible. He called them, and within the hour it was possible again: "as they told me, it is possible to reunite through the corridor" (message), then "You can start" (message). The embargo had lasted two hours, the same morning on which Lola was holding my meters and the freight elevator for a payment and a signature. My later messages to Saba say he allowed it "much later"; the chat says two hours. What I was remembering was the whole arc, which ends with the wall.

The wall. The second intervention came after the fact. The front wall of the joined apartment was built on the line agreed on with Next's staff during the units' inspection prior to my purchase. Shota then demanded it be taken down and rebuilt fifteen centimeters further in, which changed the renovation company's blueprints (1, 2) and reduced the area of our home. I set this out to Saba Tsiskaradze in September 2025, when Next first suggested that our renovation had damaged its gas pipe, and again in January 2026, and listed it among my grievances of February 4, 2026. Next has never answered any of the three.

That demand is the one the immorality page has in mind when it speaks of an owner "whose front wall Next ordered destroyed". It is also why, when Next later asked to be compensated for its services, I asked what Next owed us first.

He did not work in sales. He did, for two hours, overrule it.
